Step 01

Download your website from WebGenie

Once you're happy with your generated site, click the Download button. WebGenie saves your entire website as a single file ending in .html — find it in your Downloads folder.

Tip: The file will be named something like website.html. You don't need to open or change it — just know where it is.

  2. Open your Downloads folder and find your .html file
  3. Drag the file onto the big box on the Netlify page
  4. Wait about 10 seconds — Netlify gives you a live URL instantly

Step 03 — Optional

Get a proper domain name (e.g. yourbusiness.co.uk)

Netlify gives you a free address like random-words.netlify.app. If you want a professional address like yourbusiness.co.uk, you need to buy a domain. It costs around £8–10 per year.

We recommend either of these — both are beginner-friendly and have no hidden fees:

Search tip: A .co.uk domain is often the cheapest and most trusted for UK businesses. Search for your business name and pick one that's available.

Step 04 — Optional

Connect your domain to Netlify

Once you've bought your domain, you link it to your Netlify site so your real address works. This takes about 5 minutes to set up, then up to a few hours to go live:

  1. Create a free Netlify account at netlify.com (if you haven't already)
  2. In Netlify, go to your site → Domain settings → Add a domain
  3. Type in your domain name and follow the steps — Netlify will show you exactly what to do
  4. In Namecheap or Porkbun, go to your domain's DNS settings and add the records Netlify gives you
  5. Wait up to a few hours — your custom domain will go live automatically
✅ Once connected, your site will have a green padlock 🔒 and look fully professional.

🎉 That's it — you're live!

Your website is now published on the internet. Share your link, show it to customers, and put it on your business cards. If you ever want to update the design, come back to WebGenie and generate a new version.
